Is it possible for a human to have no body hair?

My gran has none, except on her eyes and head. Even when she was a teen, she was hairless. I know this because she told me and when she had to have an operation, and needed to be shaved, and the nurse couldn't see any. I looked closely at her arms. No hair.

Reply with how it is possible.

Certainly; however, it is a rare phenomenon. A more common disease is called alopecia areata where people lose hair.

no

Since your grandmother has no body hair, it's obviously possible. I would imagine body hair is like any other attribute - there will be some people who don't have it, and others who do. As to why - presumably it's a genetic matter, and a recessive one at that, since most people DO have at least some body hair.
