Does the pubic hair serve any specific purpose in a human's anatomy?

God/nature created every part of a human being for a specific purpose.

What is the purpose of pubic/armpit/chest/any other hair on the man's/woman's body

Well hair all over the body provides warmth. As for pubic hair I have heard helps to retain the smells that are supposed to be a powerful aphrodisiac

keep bacteria out.

In the days when we didn't wear clothes the body hair functioned like that of fur of an animal. (warmth) some areas like our nostrils have hair to catch stuff and keep it out.

Humans are animals. Hair acts as protection. While we no longer have coarse hair all over our bodies, we have hair covering our most sensitive areas. It acts as the first barrier of defense, adding a little extra to the skin or protecting an orifice.

Nope.

I am delighted that it is now customary to shave it all off.

It is a haven for bacteria and odors...

To tickle a nose

The exact purpose may not be able to be defined, there are certain races of people that do not have any pubic, arm or chest hair. Not everything pertaining to our physical bodies have a usefull purpose, such as males having nipples.

The sweat glands in the pits and groin (apocrine) regions are different than the sweat glands in the rest of the body (eccrine.)

The areas with apocrine glands secrete pheremones, which boradcast things that mainly deal with sexual availability sexual moods, and can also trnasmit details about the female cycle in women. It is thought that the hair in these regions helps to transmit these pheremones to a larger area, much like the wick of a candle transmits the scent of a candle to a greater area than melting the candle alone would.

Supposed to be left from former humans. Hair was needed where it is to help the skin keep clear of dirt and substances that could get into it and harm it. Evolved human beings have less, but still, hair provides a filter for skin, so dust stays on it and doesn't get into your body. It has to do with hormones, though, how much hair every person has over there.

I heard that one thing it's there for is to reduce friction...... lol

Not any more. Very few of us walk out in the elements naked and need the hair to keep things out of there. We usually have on underwear and trousers these days.

You are assuming that pubic hair serves a purpose. This question is very leading. I don't believe pubic hair serves a purpose. I think it's better if pubic hair can be removed. I think women look more attractive without pubic hair, and it does start to stink if a woman never bathes. The hair under your arms will start to stink if you don't bathe or shower every day. Just because something is on your body doesn't necessarily mean it serves a purpose. That doesn't mean it needs to grow as much as possible. Why not let your fingernails grow as long as they can? Some people could make the argument that you should never cut fingernails simply because they are a part of the human body.

I've had alopecia areata universalis since I was 2 years old and am now 22. That means I have no hair on my entire body since age 2.

There is no point to pubic hair. There is actually no point to hair in general these days (If you have clothes). I've always got along just fine without it. I don't really seem to get cold that much more often than other people, but perhaps a little. I actually prefer cold weather over hot weather. This is the miracle of clothing.

I think pubic hair is there for the reason all the hair is there. It was to keep our ancestors' sensitive genitals warm when they were running buck naked (perhaps a loincloth?) through the wilderness hunting the big beasts. We've actually lost a lot of hair since then (some of us)....ever notice our ape cousins and their hair?

My nipples serve no purpose either. I don't think evolution is as good at weeding out useless (or outdated) things as it is detrimental ones.
