How do beauticians braid using human hair without bending it in half (if that makes sense)?

I know that with synthetic hair usually they fold it in half and then start the braid, but how do they do it using human hair? Do they still fold it in half or is there some other way to do it?

How do beauticians braid using human hair without bending it in half (if that makes sense)?

no they do it the same way. they take two peices and then they fold it like this %26gt;%26lt; or like this )( and then connect them so that they do not come out. Why do they do this because it is use like this to make the braid tighter. I really hope that I have helped you because I did the best that I could.

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

Go to your local beauty school and have an accomplished student do it. They are not allowed to charge, but the school will require a nominal fee like $30ish. Beauty supply stores sell the hair. Good luck!

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

oh my gosh thats a terrific idea. thank you. i sure will! Report It

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

Call the local beauty school and see if one of their trainees could put them in. You would probably have to supply the extensions, but it would probably be cheaper for you to buy them separately and pay the trainee than to get it done for $800.

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

buy your own extensions from a store or ebay has a great cheap selection and clip them in yourself. its easy

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

I've bought some human hair extentions at Hairhouse Warehouse. They are clips on so you dont have to worry about anything. Just take it off when you feel like it. They cost me 220$ and I love it!

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

Girl if you want it done right so your hair isn't severly damaged afterward, you're gonna have to spend some money. I'm lucky cause my mom does extensions so I get cut, colored, and extensions for free. ; )

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

well cheapest kind of hair extensions are clip ins you can buy the hair in anycolour and its human hair most times and you can get them to sew the clips in then you just clip them in and they should stay in all day then just clip them out when you done and if you don't want clip ins don't get glue its messy and a pain in the buttt.

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

It really depends on who does it and what type of extensions you want to get, fusion is the best to me, but you wont get that done for no cheeper than 500, and the people from africa or jamaica do it the best and the cheapest.

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

i dont know if you have a Sally Beauty Supply anywhere near you, but they have some extensions there that you clip in. they are around 16-18 inches. they are real human hair and can by dyed and straightened and curled. They come in a lot of little sections that you just clipin and what is good about them is they can be removed really easily if you want to wear your hair short. I think the price ranges in between 60-90 dollars. Jessica simpson has a line of hair extensions out also but they are like one giant extension you clip in. I liked the individual ones better because you can place them wherever you want. Hope this helps!!!

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

girl where do you live? They do good weaves in NYC $60. I konw it sounds cheap but here they will hook your sew in weave up. Unless your look for those wigs that look real they will cost you about $400 for 20 in.

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

it really depends on the quality of hair and service. $800 is really on the steep end, most people who regularly get human hair extensions aside from celebrities wouldn't pay that much. You should do some research and find some stores in or near your town that sell hair and then go and look around and find the type of hair that suits your needs. When I shop for hair weave I usually try to get packs of decent quality which go for about $15 - $20 a pack. Having them put in is the more expensive part which can range from about $100 and up. Extensions can be pretty pricey but if you shop around you can definitely get them for well under $800.

Whats the cheapest way to get real human hair extensions put in?

I have human hair extensions.....since i know how to braid i just most of time braid horizontally and use needle and thread to sew in...my hair be like 14" long n cost no more than 10 dollars tax include but i think ur hair will be like 20 to 30 a pack cause of length

or get a friend that can braid just make sure braid is really small and use some braidin weave with hair to protect ur own

heres a link if u r interested

and please dont glue in. its cheap but/ u get what upay for

Wet n Wavy Human Hair?

I'm about to get braids with Wet n Wavy human hair so how I can I get it wavy? Should I buy something or should I just but water on it? I've heard water doesn't work too well so I'm looking for something that will. Thanks.

Wet n Wavy Human Hair?

I just had some braids using wet and wavy, and when i used water it got wavy-ish, but the i used some water and olive oil mixture and it made the hair extreamly wavy. so it just depends how wavy you want it.

Wet n Wavy Human Hair?

You can put hot water in it, or the best thing to use is mousse any kind will work. A mouse is a foam like gel that help curl the hair and keep it up.

Wet n Wavy Human Hair?

they have human hair with many different textures...ive seen curly hair, and different varieties of wavy hair...maybe u should look 4 something that already has the texture u want...my sis bought the shirley temple looking hair, and the braider used that to put in her hair, and it was automatically curly when braided...if u use hair thats straighter than that, after u have ur hair braided, maybe they could make sections of big braids and dip each into boiling water, and then unbraid the bulky braids...i had that technique done years ago...

Wet n Wavy Human Hair?

When I had micros...i used a lil water and mousse...the mousse was used to control the curl in the hair

Wet n Wavy Human Hair?

This is the answer to your question. I have wet and wavy braids and I love them. They are almost 2 mos old and look as good as the first day I got them without the pain(smile).

This is what u do.

Plait your wet and wavy hair into 3 or 4 plaits , take a tall microwaveable cup preferably with a handle on it and have a small towel ready. Fill the cup with water and heat it until hot.

Fully dip each braid into the water until u think the water has saturated the plait. Take the plait out and wrap the towel around it squeezing the water out. Do this with each plait

when you are finish with them all you will be pleasantly suprised. Now undo your plaits. Make sure you don't tangle them. I spray with African Royale not African Pride braid spray after I do this. I do my scalp real good and then spray the hair. You will notice that this product makes your wet and wavy soft and it hangs beautifully. PS that hot water seals the hair . If you need help taking care of it let me know and I will tell you the best way to wash it so that it always looks new even as it is growing. My way your hair will be healthy and grow a mile long with braids .

Wet n Wavy Human Hair?

wave nuevo by carson sheen

Wet n Wavy Human Hair?

you can try a spray-on conditioner. The way wet and wavy hair is suppose to work is the wetter it gets the more the wave or curl is supposed to kick in. So, basically, any curl enhancing spray will work and the curl enhancer has a bit of hold to it, locking the curl or wave in...

Wet n Wavy Human Hair?

first put it up in a cute high pony tail...then add a ton of moose until it's completely wet let it dry then your hair is cute n curly...

Dying a black human hair wig brown.?

I bought a wig recently and the colour is too dark (black 1b), I really love the style and it cost quite a lot of money. But I would prefer a lighter colour, ideally a medium brown. Would I completely destroy the wig by trying to lighten the colour?

The wig is made from human hair.

Dying a black human hair wig brown.?

Yes, Human hair can be dyed, but it is advisable to test a small piece of it prior to dying all of it. Also please remember that the hair has already been processed, so if dying the hair try to choose a hair colour which is already a near match to desired colour.

Dying a black human hair wig brown.?

Thats discusting!!! Eughhh who would want to wear someone elses old hair?! PUKE!

Dying a black human hair wig brown.?

yh - it dries out and goes frizzy

Dying a black human hair wig brown.?

next time scalp the person with the hair colour you want, it saves all this messing about with dyes

Dying a black human hair wig brown.?

ignore Whitney, anyways I think you should go to a place where you bought the wig and ask if dying it will ruin the hair or go to a salon and ask a professional :)

if the proffesional says that dying it is fine then I suggest you let a hair stylist do it rather than risk messing it up at home.

Dying a black human hair wig brown.?

I agree, you will wreck the wig if you dye it.

Either buy another wig, or leave it alone ;o)

Maybe you can get a spray tan so the wig does not look so dark???

Dark hair is nice anyway!!!

Dying a black human hair wig brown.?

yes it should be ok, could you not get a professional to do it?

Dying a black human hair wig brown.?

take it to a salon if it can be done they should do it for you....

Why do my human hair extensions only last a couple of weeks? After that, they get really tangled.?

after about 4 weeks, no matter how many times i wash it and flat iron it, it still gets very tangled and matted. What can I do to make my extensions last longer? The brand says that it is 100% human remy hair.

Why do my human hair extensions only last a couple of weeks? After that, they get really tangled.?

You need to hot oil it. Your extensions are not getting the natural oils from your scalp. Without oil, hair dries out.

Do fleas go into human hair?

because my mum was looking through my sisters hair and she found a flea,

can fleas live in human hair?

Do fleas go into human hair?

no they don't live in human hair but you can get them in your hair if you have been outside or around animals.

Do fleas go into human hair?

no because they feed on blood. they dont like human blood so no they dont live in human hair

Do fleas go into human hair?

It could be lice.

But, fleas may tend to jump in. But they can not stay in there for our hair is to fine and too thin.

If you find more, get lice shampoo.

Do fleas go into human hair?

No but they will jump on you and bite you.

Best to treat your pets with advantage or frontline. You will never have a flea problem again.

Do fleas go into human hair?

They can jump in and around your hair but they can't live there. It's possible that your mum found one that was just hitching a ride ;)

Do fleas go into human hair?

I am not a vet. but I have raised animals all my life and animal fleas will get on you but they will not live on you

Do fleas go into human hair?

Yes... my cats like to sleep around my head and I get fleas... but I keep myself protected with front line and a flea color, so it's just temporary... but the front line leaves a metallic taste in my mouth.

Do fleas go into human hair?

They might not stay for long, but they will definitely bite humans when given the opportunity. That's how the Bubonic Plague was spread.

Treat your pets for fleas, and maybe the carpet and upholstery as well, if you're seeing a lot of them in your house.

Do fleas go into human hair?

ya they can but only for a short living time like 1-2 days maby when my dog had fleas i had one in my hair but i could fell it moving around so it was only in there for a short peirod of time!!

Do fleas go into human hair?

If you found one.. THERE YA GO

Do fleas go into human hair?

yes , when my children were little they went to spend the night at a friends house, who had several dogs and they got fleas -YUCK in their hair.

Do fleas go into human hair?

the answer is YES here is why

Definition

Fleas are blood-sucking insects that feed on humans, dog, cats, and other animals. Fleas do not have wings.

Alternative Names

Dog fleas; Siphonaptera

Causes

Fleas prefer to live on dogs and cats, but may also be found on humans and other available animals. Pet owners may not be bothered by fleas until their pet is gone for a lengthy period of time, and the fleas must find another place to go. This is when they begin to bite humans. Bites frequently occur around the waist , ankles, armpits, and in the bend of the elbows and knees.

Symptoms

Rash with small bumps that itch and may bleed

Located on the armpit or fold of a joint (at the elbow, knee , or ankle)

The amount of skin affected increases over time (enlarging skin rash or lesion) or the rash spreads to other areas

When pressed the area turns white (blanches to touch)

Itching can be severe

Itching can be generalized or restricted to a skin rash

Hives

Swelling only around a lesion (sore) or injury

Skin folds such as under the breasts or in the groin may be affected ( intertrigo )

Note: Symptoms often begin suddenly (within hours).

Exams and Tests

No testing is necessary.

Treatment

The goal of treatment is to get rid of the fleas by treating the home, pets, and outside areas with insecticide. Small children should not be in the home when insecticides are being used. Birds and fish must be protected during spraying. Home foggers and flea collars do not always work. If home treatments do not work, professional extermination may be needed.

If flea bites occur, an over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone cream can help relieve itching .

Outlook (Prognosis)

Getting rid of fleas can be difficult and takes persistence.

Possible Complications

Scratching can lead to a secondary skin infection.

Prevention

Prevention may not be possible in all cases. Use of insecticides may be helpful if fleas are common in your area. Professional extermination may be necessary in some cases.

Do fleas go into human hair?

I got fleas from a horse at the stable where I boarded my horse. Unfortunately I didn't realize what was causing the itching until I was at a slumber party %26amp; picked several fleas out of my hair!! I was too embarrassed to say anything, I just went home %26amp; washed my hair about a million times. It taught me not to go hugging horses you don't know--this one had been neglected. We both survived but it was an adventure!!!!

Do fleas go into human hair?

the answer to your question is a definite NO. cat's fleas can not live on anything but a cat. much the same as if they were on a dog, (due to the fact their the same type of flea). As soon as they leave the cat they die. And i seriously doubt that it was a flea you found in your sister's hair as Fleas cannot be seen with the naked eye.

I can assure you that this is the correct and only truthful answer to your question as i have a degree in Animal Behaviour and Psychology and also a degree in Veterinary Science.

Do fleas go into human hair?

Either it was a headlouse or it was a cat/dog flea that was lost! Animal fleas do not live on humans. However they may jump onto us from time to time. There is a type of human flea but they are quite rare, and its unlikely your sister has these!

Do fleas go into human hair?

no they cannot survive in humans hair

also they cannot live after they have bitten you

lol

P.S, thanx 4 them 2 points!

Do fleas go into human hair?

A couple of misunderstandings above. I live in the country, and my cats have sometimes picked them up. Dad used to too, when he worked on the farm. Fleas can be seen by the human eye. I have at times had that misfortune. They are small, a brown colour, jump (do not run/crawl), and are very fast moving. They do not die after biting. The blood sucked nourishes them to live to bite again another day.

They like being in human clothes, and if you undress near your bed, they get in the bedding. Fleas wouldn't live long-term in human hair, but are pests if they get in the house, infest carpets and crannies. Rurally you can pick them up in haysheds, or on grass.

Luckily, these days there are effective products you can buy to get rid of them.

Do fleas go into human hair?

no they don't live in human hair but there lots of breeds of fleas there are dog fleas and carpet flea wood fleas and lots of other fleas fleas will go into your hair but wont live in human hair

Human hair extension help!!!!?

i was gonna go out and buy some human hair extensions, they are straight and i really like that style but if i wanted to curl or spiral it for like a special occasion then would that set the extensions on fire??? or can you blow dry them and stuff. i was gonna buy them for sally beauty supply. you can check out the website if you dont know what im talking about. and how do you put in clip in ones??? is it like several clips??where do you "CLIP" them in???

Human hair extension help!!!!?

does your hair set on fire when you curl it?

NO, it is human hair which means it is just like your hair.

i have this website that has a tutorial on how to put in clip in extensions, but im not at home so it is kind of hard to find it.

trust me i have clip in extensions and they are easy as to put in.

Human hair extension help!!!!?

If you get the real human hair you can straighten it,curl it, whatever. Synthetic extensions cannot have heat applied they will burn. You can blowdry the real hair. You just part your hair a certain way and clip them in they are very simple.

Human hair extension help!!!!?

If it's 100% human hair, then you can heat style it, without worrying about it burning. Make sure you're not getting a synthethic mix, you cannot wash or style synthethic hair. If it's human, you can do anything you can do with your own hair. As far as clip on's go, you can clip them anywhere, but they have been known to fall off, they're just hair clips with hair attached to them. You can also have as many or as little as you want.

Human hair extension help!!!!?

hey babe, dont you worry! my cousin nikki and her sister are verry good at hair probs. they always say, if it's blonde have it nearly always straight and sexy but if its a special ecasion (sorry if i spelt sumfin wrong) make it bouncy and curly

How can I keep my human hair weave silky and shiny??

I just had a human hair weave sewn in. I want to know how to keep the hair silky and shiny, the way it is now. It usually gets hard and dirty looking within a week or so. The hair is a very good grade, it was about 80 bucks a bag.

I've been told to tie it up at night, but somehow the scarf always works its way off during the night!!!

I need help maintaining my weave because it's very expensive to have it done! I hate it when my weave looks ratty within a week though.

Please help!

How can I keep my human hair weave silky and shiny??

I got my hair sewn in about a month ago also. I used Remi hair which is what I am assuming you used as well. I am was having the same problem. I switched to using a doo rag instead of a regular scarf becuase it stayed on better during the night. When I went to the beauty shop to have my hair styled, my beautician sprayed some light conditioner on the weave before she curled it, i am not sure what effect it had on my weave, but it looked very nice after she got done. I hope that helped! :)

use lots of conditioner

How can I keep my human hair weave silky and shiny??

Brush the weave starting from the bottom and make your way to the top. To make it silky apply a quater size of mousse onto it. Don't use sheen sprays because it will cause the hair tracks to slip out.

Treat the weave as you would treat your hair have it wash reguarly.

Yes you can. You can only buy them straight, but you can perm them as easily as you can perm your own hair.

Can loose, tight wavy human hair be straightened, and if so, does hair get curly when washed again?

Im just wanting to know if I get a curly, or deep wave, loose wave human hair weave, would I be able to straighten my weave, but would get it curly again when water gets to it? Or whenever I wash it out will the natural curl come back to it.

Can loose, tight wavy human hair be straightened, and if so, does hair get curly when washed again?

Yes you can straighten it but when you was it you will bring back the hairs original texture. Its easier to get straight weave and curl it later than get curled hair and straighten it and going back.

Can loose, tight wavy human hair be straightened, and if so, does hair get curly when washed again?

both of those answers are a yes!

Can loose, tight wavy human hair be straightened, and if so, does hair get curly when washed again?

you can use a hair straightener.... but it'll get curly again once it gets wet... or you can get a perm i suppose to staighten it...

Can loose, tight wavy human hair be straightened, and if so, does hair get curly when washed again?

yea if you straightnen it it will get straight but if you get it wet it will go back curly i know this because i gots that one time and i was rockin it

Can loose, tight wavy human hair be straightened, and if so, does hair get curly when washed again?

well you can get a perm that actually straightens hair and i'm pretty sure it doesn't come back for a while until your old roots come in

Can loose, tight wavy human hair be straightened, and if so, does hair get curly when washed again?

If you're straightening it with a chemical the curl will not come back when you shampoo it, but if you straighten it with a heating element, yes the curl will return upon shampooing. Good luck.

Can loose, tight wavy human hair be straightened, and if so, does hair get curly when washed again?

yea/yea

Where does "Human Hair Weave" Come From?

Is it really Human Hair? Because there is soo much of it in the store!!!

Where does "Human Hair Weave" Come From?

There's a commercial on the Detroit station that says something about Indian hair, so my guess is a majority of the weave comes from India.

Where does "Human Hair Weave" Come From?

most of the time the hair is man made, and i dont mea REAL hair

Where does "Human Hair Weave" Come From?

Yes! It is made from human hair and of course treated for re-use..I am not sure if it is from donations/sales/dead people....let me know when you find out...

Where does "Human Hair Weave" Come From?

Yep, it can be either human or synthetic. Most of the time, ppl in asia grow out their hair and sell it. Its deff not from dead ppl.

Seriously, just don't get a weave. from a guys pov, it is so tacky.

Where does "Human Hair Weave" Come From?

the hair comes from russian prison camps, the prisoners exchange hgair for food it is actually a very sick trade, altough some hair does come from donations

Can I dye my new human hair clip-on esxtensions???

I just bought a 7 pieces clip on type from human hair extensions (101 type) through internet, so as I saw in the website 6 was my color but when I got then they really are a little lighter than my hair. I think a 4 would it be perfect. Anyways I cannot return them and I don't wanna dye my hair lighter.

Can I dye them just a tone lighter being carefull with the clips at the top? Ohh and they are wavy 16'' 101 human hair type.

Thanks so much!

I can't wait to wear them... I apreciate ur ansswers. =)

Can I dye my new human hair clip-on esxtensions???

Yes you can dye them.

Can I dye my new human hair clip-on esxtensions???

I think you can, but check with a beauty salon professional.

Can I dye my new human hair clip-on esxtensions???

Since they are made from human hair, I think it would work fine. Synthetics, of course, won't. Do a very small strand test on one, just to make sure.

Can I dye my new human hair clip-on esxtensions???

You can.

Can I dye my new human hair clip-on esxtensions???

Normally I would not suggest to do this, however due to the fact that you can not return them... Use only a semi-permanent product. I would not color all of the hair the exact same level and tone, unless your hair has been colored one flat level. I would suggest have a professional do this for you to ensure a great outcome. Best of luck.

I always gotten my hair braiding with synthetic hair but now this new person wants me 2 use human ha

Hi :pThe style I mostly want is wet and wavy or a loose wave but brading halfway 2 my chin and the rest and the ends is left loose.Should I really spend my money 4 human hair even though it mostly going 2 be loose at the ends or should I go back 2 synthetic hair which lasts longer or pick a different hair braider? Help :p I awlays gotten my hair braiding with synetic hair but now this new person wants me 2 use human hair should I?http://www.hairsisters.com/new/ShoppingL... the pic is like this

A MIXTURE OF THE 1ST AND 2ND PIC ON THIS SITE THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS I DO WANT IT 2 BE BRADING A LITTLE MORE 2 THE ENDS AND THEN LOOSE :P CAN THIS BE USED WITH SYNTHETIC HAIR THAT HAVE SOME WAVES IN IT? like this one? http://www.hairsisters.com/new/ViewDetai...

I always gotten my hair braiding with synthetic hair but now this new person wants me 2 use human hair?

Human hair...can be manipulated more than synthetic....if you really want your style to last a while....Human Hair is better than synthetic......it's more expensive...but goodness..synthetic hair is like the hair that you burn for cornrows....I really don't see why anyone would want a head full of that....if you get tired of the wet and wavy look...you can straighten the human hair after washing....and some brands are better for straightening it and then wetting it...and making it wavy again....Human hair..just gives you more style options....Have you had the freestyle braids with synthetic hair before??? or you had them in cornrows? Synthetic hair..just will not last longer than Human if you have them in Freestyle braids like the pic that you have from Hair Sisters..I buy from them myself...believe me...go with the human....If you have questions..email1

I always gotten my hair braiding with synthetic hair but now this new person wants me 2 use human hair?

use human hair, it will cost more, but probably look a lot better!!!

I always gotten my hair braiding with synthetic hair but now this new person wants me 2 use human hair?

Hi,

I don't know much about braiding with synthetic or human hair, but I do know that if you prefer synthetic that that is exactly what you should go for. Don't allow anyone to push you in to a more expensive process that doesn't last as long if that's not what you want.

I always gotten my hair braiding with synthetic hair but now this new person wants me 2 use human hair?

Well..human hair is the one that has wet and wavy..but once again, you use which hair that you want..if you go and get the synthetic and you see that it don't look the way that you want it to..then you'll know for the next time..

keep in mind, human hair isn't heavy to the head like the synthetic is.

Synthetic or Human Hair?

I am going on vacation to Jamaica next month and want a sexy curly style with braids. Should I use synthetic or human wet and wavy hair? I heard the curls hold better with synthetic hair. I don't know. I've always gotten straight hair and curled them with rods but this won't work once it get's wet when I am in the pool.

Synthetic or Human Hair?

I would use human. I wore synthetic hair on my vacation to Jamaica to and when it got wet it napped and knotted up. You have a better chance with Human hair. Have fun!!!

Synthetic or Human Hair?

Human hair. If you get synthetic you wont be able to use hot tools on it so your styles are limited. Plus, you want it to look as real as possible right?

閳?br>Synthetic or Human Hair?

I would go with a good grade/quality synthetic hair. That way you can get it wet without worrying as much. The natural hair is more delicate and will limit your fun. Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

Synthetic or Human Hair?

if you get synthetic hair it will work when wet, the pool water will be cold so it will not effect the curls that you have already put in the synthetic hair (just don't get in a hot job, it will loosen the curls and change them to waves, however that could be a new look)

Synthetic or Human Hair?

Either one would be good.

Synthetic or Human Hair?

since your going swimming....your going to want human hair....synthetic will end up napping up (lol).....and with human hair it will end up curlying once it gets wet....plus human hair looks so much better than that rough synthetic

Glue in human hair extensions?

im having my glue in human hair extensions today and i just want to know top tips for looking after them

Glue in human hair extensions?

conditioner and lots of it!!!

Comb with a wide toothed comb gently, so not to pull them out.

Good luck, mine stayed in for nearly 3 months, which was about right then.

Glue in human hair extensions?

Wash, condition and MOISTURIZE (very important) your hair every 2 - 3 days. The extensions do not receive your natural scalp oils and so need to have moisture added every wash. If you don't moisturize your hair extensions they will become brittle and break easily leading to split and ratty ends

If straightening your hair, avoid putting heat on the area where it has been attached.

Be careful when brushing, do not pull on them but gentle detangle

:)

Is human hair an adequate source for thread?

If you had no other alternatives, do you think human hair would be a good substitute for thread in sewing? I think it's too weak by the strand, but maybe multiple hairs could be woven into a stronger yarn-type product.

What do you think?

Is human hair an adequate source for thread?

Depends on the hair. Some people have coarse hair that might work. Weaving the fine thin hair might work in a bind. try it out and let us know. I bet horse tail hair would work.

Is human hair an adequate source for thread?

Yes I think so.

I'm not so sure I'd like it if there were dandruff flakes on my sweater though.

Can human hair extensions become damaged?

can human hair extensions become damaged from hair straighteners or curling irons?

Can human hair extensions become damaged?

Yep they get damaged, even more so cuz they're not getting the oils from your scalp like your own hair.

The only way to repair the damage is to have them trimmed and deep conditioned.

take good care of them to prevent further damage. Use a heat protectant, like Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide when you iron them and do weekly conditioning treatments either at home or in salon.

Can human hair extensions become damaged?

Yes, it's just like the hair attached to your head. It gets damaged just the same so take care of it.

Can human hair extensions become damaged?

Oh yes. They're not attached to the head anymore either, which makes them even more suceptable. Your scalp will not naturally coat hair extensions, so they're already dry, and they're not getting any nutrients from the scalp. Then if you use a flat iron on top of it, you're just roughing up the cuticle. Human hair extensions can last you a couple months if you take care of them, but if you wash them too much or use too much heat on them, they'll only last you a couple of weeks.

How to manage 100% human hair wigs?

hi i just a wig...100% human hair..how do i manage it? can i use shampoo and conditioner? blowdry? curling iron? any info would be appreciated! and also what i shouldn't do with it thx. Also will it affect my natural hair growth underneath since my hair is being pushed down?

How to manage 100% human hair wigs?

Although it is the most natural and durable of all fibers from which wigs are made, human hair is more difficult to take care of, because each time it gets wet, it will lose the style, just as your own hair does. The only styles that would be fairly easy to take care of would be if the wig has a good perm in it, and is worn just moussed and scrunched without using anything else to style it. Also if you wear your hair in a straight, smooth style, a human hair wig would be ok. Otherwise, some kind of heat would have to be used to style it.

The same is true to a certain extent with human-synthetic blends. The synthetic hair holds it shape fairly well after washing, but the style may have to be touched up a little with a curling iron to refresh the style--lots less hassle than styling it again from scratch like 100% human hair.

The HairLife blend by Jacquelyn is made of about 50% human hair and 50% Advanced Elura synthetic fiber. This is a good combination because it give you the best of both worlds--the longevity of human hair, along with the synthetic's ability to hold its shape after washing.

A curling iron set on LOW or WARM may be used on most synthetic fibers. Even though the blend contains human hair, one must defer to the synthetic when using heat methods for styling. Hot rollers or steam setters are OK too, but I recommend using end papers in order to keep the ends of the hair smooth.

--------------------------------------...

CARE AND STYLING PRODUCTS (ALSO SUITABLE FOR BLENDS)

Although the hair used in making human hair wigs is grown on a human head, most of it isn't like the hair growing out of your own head. After harvesting, it can be chemically processed to remove the cuticle in order to minimize tangling. (This does not include Virgin hair, which has never been chemically processed in any way. Most manufacturers use the processed hair because it doesn't have to be harvested as carefully as Virgin hair, and is, therefore, less expensive to produce.)

In addition, hair from India or Asian sources starts out as dark brown or black, and is bleached out and dyed back for uniformity of color, then the hair is mixed and blended into whatever colors the company requires. So the hair has already gone through a triple chemical processing before it becomes a wig. For this reason, only shampoos, conditioners, sprays, and other styling products formulated especially for processed hair should be used. Oil-based products, like the ones we use on our hair, can coat processed hair and make it appear dull and lifeless.

We carry a full line of products made especially for human hair wig care. They may be found in our Wet Products section.

--------------------------------------...

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WASHING YOUR HUMAN HAIR WIG:

Draw enough lukewarm water in a large pan or bowl to cover the wig or hairpiece well.

Dissolve a capful of prescribed wig shampoo, along with 1 tablespoon of baking soda.

Squeeze shampoo solution through hair gently, keeping hair going in one direction or it may tangle. If front of cap has makeup on it, it may be scrubbed gently with an old toothbrush.

Rinse wig well with plenty of lukewarm water.

Dissolve a capful or so of wig conditioner in plastic tub or pan of water to cover well. Work mixture through wig hair (remember: same direction). Rinse with fresh water. Lay wig out on towel and pat out excess water.

Pin on wig form and pick or comb out gently. At this point, a detangler such as Brandywine, Instacure, or Fiberguard with Lusterizer may be used. If working on a long wig, start combing out the hair at the ends and work up the strand to the roots. Wig may be set in rollers if desired and placed under hood dryer, or left to dry overnight. A hot curling iron may be used on 100% human hair wigs, but on human-synthetic blend wigs, don't let the iron get too hot or it will damage the synthetic wig fiber.

A good indication of when the iron is too hot for the synthetics is that, instead of curling the fiber, it appears straight and limp when you remove the iron. In the worst case, the fiber melts and frizzes or disintegrates. Too much heat can also make the fiber appear frizzy because it damages the fiber. The bottom line here is to be careful when using a curling iron on any synthetic or blend wig. If the iron gets too hot when working with a human-synthetic blend, mist the barrel of the iron with water to cool it down.

i asked this a couple of days ago, and i am thankful for the answer but i didn't really get much information...soo...

i was just wondering, like, how much do the human hair clip in extensions cost @ Sally's for each length?

and about how much hair do you get for the price??

also, i am currently dying my hair black...but it washes out sometimes...should i buy extensions close to my natural color and then dye them with the same stuff or go ahead and just buy black extensions??

n, would t be cheaper to just buy the tracks and clips seperately then just sew them together myself??

thank you!!閳?br>Sally's human hair clip in extensions? DIY? Help please :D?

;] i have them onesss

sallys are well good

i bought the black ones cuz i dye my hair black (Y)

all together i payed 鎷?0 and thats for 4 rows of black extensions and 1 purple.

mine are 20inches long and 100% human hair

Sally's human hair clip in extensions? DIY? Help please :D?

No idea about that place, but i know on the site with jessica simpson%26amp; ken paves extensions the prices are all different ranges and lengths.

Sally's human hair clip in extensions? DIY? Help please :D?

i had 18 inch 1's and they were @ 鎷?6.99 per strip and you need 3 strips.

dont advise dying extensions as they are coated in silicone and enzymes to help keep them smooth etc, and colours dont mix with this mixture...and yeah..frazzled hair extensions.

How is the hair manufactured for all of those 100% "human" hair wigs?

The fake hair industry is huge. The most sought after wigs and hair pieces claim to be 100% human hair. Obviously, there are not enough people out there wacking their hair off for the sake of providing head coverings.

How is the hair manufactured for all of those 100% "human" hair wigs?

IS REAL HUMAN HAIR. MOST OF THEM FROM ASIAN COUNTRIES WHERE THEY GROW THEIR HAIR AND CUT AND SELL FOR THEIR LIVING.

How is the hair manufactured for all of those 100% "human" hair wigs?

Much of it is bought from people in poor countries.

How is the hair manufactured for all of those 100% "human" hair wigs?

Actually people are doing that. Have you ever heard of Locks of Love? There are also companies that will buy your hair.

How is the hair manufactured for all of those 100% "human" hair wigs?

you'd be surprised...they harvest hair from average ppl who want to cut it off but they also harvest it from cadavers if a consent form is signed.

How is the hair manufactured for all of those 100% "human" hair wigs?

You would be surprised at how much human hair sells for and the amount of people doing it. Just remember, they have an entire planet to harvest hair from and only a small amount of it can afford the wigs.

How is the hair manufactured for all of those 100% "human" hair wigs?

actually yes this is. there are women that "farm" their hair for that purpose it pays well too.

How is the hair manufactured for all of those 100% "human" hair wigs?

Actually there are. My ex would grow her hair long enough, and not color it, then cut it and donate it. Then she would do it again. don't underestimate people. Sure they can be evil, but there are still loads of good ones out there.

How is the hair manufactured for all of those 100% "human" hair wigs?

actually there r many people who donate and sell their hair...if u have enough hair they will pay u good money to cut it off...espacially people in poor countries...i have donated my hair recently...cut 14inches off...they just cut my ponytail to keep it all together.

Does human hair weigh a lot?

So me and my significant other are in an argument about the wright of human hair. It started by her saying she lost 2 pounds due to the fact that she got her hair cut, which was a quite a lot hair but it was nothing like Rapunzel had. Now, I disagree with her saying that it cannot simply weigh 2 pounds, even for a good amount of it and that her weight loss is due to other factors like dieting and such, which we are both currently doing.

So, any opinions on this? Factual evidence is greatly appreciate!

Thanks!

Does human hair weigh a lot?

Human hair is very light.. four feet of hair make about a 1/4 pound

Does human hair weigh a lot?

it's really really light. i had hair to my waist and when i chopped it all off it was very light when i was done. it makes a difference on your head, but it was only a couple ounces. she probably just lost two pounds off her body

Does human hair weigh a lot?

i would ask the shop keeper and see what he or she say

Does human hair weigh a lot?

wow this required some research... anyway what I found is that hair weight can vary based on many things such as the protein compsition (British Journal of Dermatology) , texture, cultural differences in the persons hair being weighed. Some sources said hair weight ranged from 2.5 pounds to 3.5 pounds for a 8 to 16 inches of hair again depending on the type of human hair (texture, thickness and so forth).

I did a Google search and found that also in addition to the various dermatology studies done on hair many advertisers of hair extensions tell you the weight of hair for different types, color, texture hair extensions they sell in various lengths which range from the same I mentioned above from the dermatology sites I visited.

so yes I would say a 2 pound loss is possible...

Hope this helps!

Hope this helps

Can you shower with human hair extensions in your hair?

I want to get extensions but I don't know if you can wash your hair regulary with them. What are the pros and cons to human hair extensions? Any suggestions are open!! Thank you!!!

Can you shower with human hair extensions in your hair?

You can shower with them and wash them. Over time, they get a little oily though. You also have to blend them in well yourself after every wash. don't know what your hair texture is, but as your hair texture changes you'll have to make it blend in with the weave. Pros are you can where them for longer (as opposed to synthetic har). Cons depend on how they are applied. If they are sewed in, your reall hair can be damaged from being in braids for so long. If it is glued in, the glue can break off your hair. so I guess hair damage is the con of most extensions.

Can you shower with human hair extensions in your hair?

yes, just be very gentle...because the glue gets wet and the hair will slip out.

wash with caution

I have a human hair track (weave) in my hair and the curls wont stay in?

Micro braids with human hair and swimming in the ocean...YAY or NAY??

What do you recommend if i swim in the ocean with braided human wavy hair??

Should i do something to my own hair or the braids BEFORE

%26amp; AFTER?? Should i even be swimming in the ocean

with braids??

Micro braids with human hair and swimming in the ocean...YAY or NAY??

I went to Barbados last summer with micro braids. Good idea I was so happy that I was able to swim everyday without trashing my hair. No prep needed but after every swim you should buy a good conditioner...I use aveda hair conditioning (it is like $29.99) after I swim. It is not heavy so it wouldnt get stuck between the braids. My real hair underneath was relaxed so I needed to make sure I treated my hair. When I came back 3 weeks later and took my braids out my hair was still like normal ----with the exception of needing to re-touch my roots---salt water will take every ounce of perm out of your hair lol. The braids lasted the entire 3 weeks I was there...I had them done 2 weeks before I went..Good luck

Micro braids with human hair and swimming in the ocean...YAY or NAY??

Some people say they slip if the hair is too silky. My sister says that yaki human hair is the best, because it has more texture, so it wont slip as easily. But I haven't experienced it. I would love to know because I'm getting micros this weekend and going to the beach next week and I dont want braids floating past me in the water either. LOL!

Micro braids with human hair and swimming in the ocean...YAY or NAY??

nay, they will so get messed up

Micro braids with human hair and swimming in the ocean...YAY or NAY??

sorry boo but this is a nay and not a yay. you shoudnt be doing any kind of swimming with micros except in your bath tub.

Micro braids with human hair and swimming in the ocean...YAY or NAY??

I would have to say NAY! I went swimming with micros, and while none of the braids fell out, the braids just were not the same. They started loosening up and got kinda frizzy, and the weave hair just didn't have the same texture afterwards. I wound up taking them right out and wasting two hundred bucks.

What kind of human hair does Boots on Flavor of Love use for her weave?

On Flavor of Love, Boots wears her weave straight, tightly curled, in ringlets and frequently gets her hair wet. What kind of human hair does she use to acheive all of those styles?

What kind of human hair does Boots on Flavor of Love use for her weave?

it looks like she has wet and wavy, it comes straight, but when wet (either water, or setting lotion) it gets wavy, and i doubt she uses synthetic hair, b/c she cusrls it w/a curling iron, something you cant do w/synthetic hair! my mom got micros w/wet and wavy and its so cute!

What kind of human hair does Boots on Flavor of Love use for her weave?

A bad kind because it looks a hot mess.

What kind of human hair does Boots on Flavor of Love use for her weave?

she doesn't use human hair, its synthetic

What kind of human hair does Boots on Flavor of Love use for her weave?

i dont know but hey at least its better than new york's

Main shampoo on human hair?

hi

so i hear that main shampoo (such as horses' mains) has ingredients that are healthy for human hair. its supposed to make it grow thicker too and i was wondering is this true? **(will it be ok to use on my hair?)

thanks in advance

Main shampoo on human hair?

Its very true! It doesnt have all the additives like regular shampoo, its cheaper, it makes your hair grow thicker and it grows faster, and less of it comes out when you brush it too.

I use it all the time, I have hair down to my waist.

Look for "The original Mane-n-tail shampoo and conditioner"

Its sold at walmart, and there are directions for human use on the back as well, which means its approved for human use. Oh, and you will find it with the pet products, not with the people shampoos and conditioners.

Main shampoo on human hair?

People use Mane and Tail I think it's called and I have heard it makes your hair smooth and grow faster.

Main shampoo on human hair?

The shampoo you are asking about is called "Mane and tail" ... it was ORIGINALLY formulated for horses, but is now formulated for HUMANS ... it's supposed to make your hair grow thicker and faster, and be more healthy, but I've never 'noticed any difference' after a person switched to that brand. I'd go to a good hairdresser and have him/her recommend two or three 'good quality shampoos' and get one of each kind. NEVER wash your hair with only 'one shampoo' for more than three months ... then 'switch' to using another for three months ... it's best if you have 3-4 types of shampoo, and 'change them' every time you wash ... since I now do that, I need to 'wash less often' and my hair looks 'really nice' for the first time in my life.

What is the best human hair to buy?

I go swimming alot (at the beach and at my pool at home) and the human hair I buy always sheds after I go swimming. I am an african american and I love getting sew-ins... can anybody reccommed the best human hair for swimming, please? And i live in Miami, Fl

What is the best human hair to buy?

I think the best human hair to use is the yaki human hair becasue it last longer and it makes ur hair look like it is ur own.

It is the best i love it so much trust me , u should use it ok ook chow for now okokok bye bye.

What is the best human hair to buy?

when you first put on the silky staight human hair it's awsome... then when you wash it or wet it it becomes a tangled ratty mes!!! how do you ladies keep your extensions so pretty week after week and does it matter that i am using 18" human hair in color 613??? please help!!! thanks xoxoxox

Why is it that human hair extensions get ratty after a few days....?

It can depend on the quality of human hair that was used. There are a few different types, but one of the most common and cheapest of the human hair is "Brushed hair". What you describe is what this sounds like. "Brushed hair" sources have inverted cuticle layers. (The cuticle doesn't run in the same direction). It is then treated with harsh chemicals to dissolve the outer cuticle layer so that it appears to be softer and silkier. The hair is then treated with a silicone to make it feel soft and silky. It looks great for the first few shampoos, but then it starts to look as your describe. The silicone layer starts to shampoo off and you get down to the raw, chemically treated hair that has no cuticle. Then you have a BIG mess!

One of the best sources of hair and the highest quality I've found is Indian Temple hair. This stuff is gorgeous!!! Stays nice through months of wear. Although it is very expensive.

For now if you follow some of the advice already posted by the sisters who wear 'em, and I'd say to maybe supplement with some silicone products of your own. Gloss Drops, that sort of thing that have some silicone in them to make the hair soft and easy to get through and adds shine. Good luck!

Why is it that human hair extensions get ratty after a few days....?

just like human hair it needs to be washed, conditioned, and taken care of.

Why is it that human hair extensions get ratty after a few days....?

it's fake... you can't controll that... try growing hair!

Why is it that human hair extensions get ratty after a few days....?

Beacuse youhave to keep the human oily so you have yo put oil sheen on it because its human hair and will get ratty and nappy.

Why is it that human hair extensions get ratty after a few days....?

NEED TO WRAP YOUR HAIR UP EVERY NIGHT. TRY NOT TO GET IT WET, USE A OIL SPRAY IN THE MORNING.

Why is it that human hair extensions get ratty after a few days....?

I had human hair extensions and they stayed good for a very long time. The reason yours arent is mabey because you are not taking care of them right, or the person who did put them in didnt do a good job. When you wash them, you can only wash human hair, you want to do the regular things you would do with your hair. For example, shampooing, conditioning, blowdrying, etc. You also want to wrap your hair up at night so it will stay put and neat. Otherwise your hair will have you looking so crazy lol. You do not want that to happen girl. When you wake up, you need to brush it, comb it, put it in the desired style, you know. With human hair, and ONLY with human hair can you use heat on it. On fake hair the hair will get all matty and stuff, that will have you looking so crazy girl. Also dont weight your hair down with alot of hairspray and stuff. You might want to watch out how much you wash it too. You should wash the hair everyother week. There should be no reason why the hair gets ratty after a few days, if it does you dont know how to take proper care of it girl.

Why is it that human hair extensions get ratty after a few days....?

my guess is that it is not protected like growing hair is by the natural oils ur hair produces

Why is it that human hair extensions get ratty after a few days....?

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

It doesn't make evolutionary sense to me that human hair on the head wouldn't stop growing if you let it.

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

I learned about hair growth because my daughter used to cut hers when she walked on it.

Each individual follicle (I think that's the name of the little holes a hair comes out of) has its won growth cycle. A follicle continues to grow its single hair until its time to rest, which is usually around 6 months for an average person. That produced hair length down around your shoulder blades.

Then, after its six months of growth, that follicle stops to rest, and the hair falls out.

After a rest, the new hair grows out of that follicle, for the full six months.

Different people have different genetic rest cycles. I know women whose hair grows to their waist, which is about a year cycle.

My daughter, well, we never did know how long hers would grown, because when she walked on her hair, she had to cut it, which takes around 4 years to grow that long. Let me add the day she was born the nurses put a bow in her hair.

She has ancestry from India. Guiness Book of Records says the longest hair ever recorded was around 27 feet long, one of those guys in India who doesn't go anywhere or do anything, just sits under a tree and hopes it doesn't rain, and takes money from the devout. It was apparent his follicles never rest.

My daughter now as an adult keeps her hair cut short, but from time to time will let it grow down to her waist. There is a program which takes donated hair and it goes to make wigs for kids with cancer whose hair fell out. So, if it gets a little longer, she says to heck with it, waits a few more months, and tells the beautician to cut it for donation. The beauticians all know about the program, and her hair is so perfect and heavy they really rave when they see it.

As I said, I know about hair growth.

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

after you're dead a while

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

I think it stops growing a week or two AFTER you are dead.

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

My hair person tells me that as it gets longer it becomes more difficult to care for and neglect meakes it break off giving the illusion it has stopped growing. With proper conditioning and such it will continue to grow.

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

nope, it keeps growing a bit even after your dead.

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

I think it does. It doesn't make sense to me either. I use to have real long hair down below my waist I cut it up to my shoulders and now it doesn't seem to want to get any longer than my shoulders.

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

If you're talking about beards and stuff it doesn't stop growing, it instead slows down. Hence "breaking it in", or men with facial hair in their 20's are more likely to have shorter beards than men in their 50's although everyones' hair grows in very fast after it has been shaved, Naired, or otherwise removed.

I also have experience with this from having to shave myself and going for a month without shaving this past summer. Quite interesting how hair comes out like water out of a faucet on high when it's first growing in but then it slows down dramatically like a slow drip out of the same faucet.

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

i knoooow. I mean, if you didnt cut it all your life how long would it get? and for that matter, what about the hair on you arms and legs? i wonder if that could grow really really long too? interesting question

Does human hair stop growing at some point if you let it grow out?

It doesn't stop growing when you cut it, so why would it stop if you let it grow? There is nothing stopping the growth. An object in motion stays in motion, unless acted upon by an equal and opposite force.

Question about clip on human hair extensions bought from ebay?

I bought some dark brown human hair clip on hair extensions. They are all right - soft abd shiny. My friend says that this hair is from a dead person. Is it? I am soo freaked out. I live in the UK

Also, the seller who sold the hair has a ebay shop and has sold loads.

Please help !

Question about clip on human hair extensions bought from ebay?

First off;

Ebay is a bad idea for buying hair extensions.

If you're shopping online already, might as well go to name brand sites.

Secondly;

No, it is not the hair of a dead person.

Even if it were human hair, that would usually mean it was donated by someone.

Question about clip on human hair extensions bought from ebay?

Haha, I thought the same thing when I bought my extensions. But really I have no idea, although I have heard that they come 'hair donors', I'm not sure if the person is dead or not when they donate their hair.

Question about clip on human hair extensions bought from ebay?

I doubt it people can get money to sell there hair and those people are usually living. Plus the person would have had to dye prematurly in order to have nice enough hair to give and the family would probablly want to keep it the way it was.

Question about clip on human hair extensions bought from ebay?

Ohhh can YOU give us the ebay seller info? I want to buy some too!!!!!!!

Question about clip on human hair extensions bought from ebay?

People are not allowed to sell body parts it is totally illegal (Yes hair is a body part)

Use it with confidence and tell your friend she is a nut case

Question about clip on human hair extensions bought from ebay?

hah i think your friend was trying to freak you out and i guess it worked lol but no there not from dead people

Prom question?!?

what do you think of this dress? i have (dirty blond-ish brownish) sort of hair to my shoulders. and im a freshman.

my dress is actually a little different and its the blue one!

is it too much??

ps: (and i want to wear my hair sort of in a lower curly updo, with a couple extra curls hanging down)

http://www.aviena.com/detail.asp?back=co...

Prom question?!?

i love it! I think that will look so pretty! have fun :] 閳绢櫘ope i helped :)

Prom question?!?

girlfrienn' puhlease. If you show up to prom you will look trashy. Prom dresses aren't supposed to be that busy. There supposed to be classy, sexy and cute. That is trashy, cheap and crazy looking.

I would say DON'T get it in pink or blue.

Black, maybee!

Prom question?!?

I think for freshman year it's a little too much.

Prom question?!?

i love that! the pink one is especially pretty!

if it wasn't for prom, then it would be too dressy.

Prom question?!?

The dress is pretty, but the middle part is a little much?

Prom question?!?

yeah its a little too much for a freshmen

Prom question?!?

I think since you are a freshmen, really the last thing you want to do is have all of the older girls ragging on you for showing up in something like that, I certainly would. Save that for your senior years, although I hope it's a different dress, look for something more original. Anyway, I think you should be thinking simplicity but sexy. Maybe a shorter bubble dress like this one, some great heels, jewelery, you'll look absolutely beautiful:

You could even have a dressmaker add, a few stones of rhine, and really make it your own.
